The latest version, 2.5.12 of Radio Station (FREE) by netmix® is now available.
We have reintroduced the Howler library, which was removed in a prior update, as it was not functioning, but an updated version of Howler was available, so we brought it back in addition to the Amplitude and jPlayer scripts.
There were reports that the calendar was not shifting to a new day at midnight, which we ascertained was caused by most caching plugins and hosting services that offer caching.
Caches help make sites faster by building an HTML version of a dynamically built WordPress page. The caching system then stores the page in a folder. When the page is requested, instead of building it dynamically each time, the stored version of the page is called up in the browser. The cache system will clear out the last version of the page to make room for the new version.
Caching does not work well with dynamic data pulled into the page by JavaScript. The cache system doesn’t recognize the change in dynamic data when the day/date shifts at midnight. Because the change is not static, the cache doesn’t know how to clear the last version of the page. In this update, we’ve included a fix to ensure the data is visible in the browser even if the cache doesn’t clear the page.
Make sure to back up your site before taking the latest update displayed in your WordPress plugins admin. Always back up before updating a theme and or plugin.
